Celebration of Life Video Service:
What to Expect & What It Costs

What is a celebration of life video?

A short film — usually 3 to 6 minutes — that tells one person's story through their photos and clips, played during the service. Unlike a funeral recording (which captures the day itself), a celebration of life video looks back across a whole life: childhood, love, work, family, the small ordinary moments. It typically plays once, at the moment the room needs it most, and is kept by the family afterward.

What does a celebration of life video cost in 2026?

Anywhere from $35 to $1,800, depending on who does the work. We checked published prices across the market in July 2026 — here is the honest landscape, including where we sit:

OptionTypical priceWhat you get
DIY apps & group-video platforms$5–129You do the editing and collect the clips yourself; template-based results
Remote slideshow editors$120–500A human edits your photos into a slideshow with music; 24hr–6-day turnaround
Premium remote editing studios$500–1,200Longer, more crafted films; photos and clips; restoration sometimes included
Voice Legacy Memorial Filmfrom $899Professionally edited 4–6 min film plus AI-animated moments — still photographs gently brought to life — with optional voice recreation; typically 72 hours
On-site videographers (filming the service)$950–1,800+A different product: they capture the day itself rather than the life before it

Why publish our price in an industry where most studios say "call for a quote"? Because families planning a service in four days don't have time for sales calls. The number is the number: full pricing here.

How is an AI-animated memorial film different?

Traditional tribute videos edit your photos. We also make the most important ones move — and, if you choose, speak. In a Voice Legacy Memorial Film, two or three key photographs are gently animated: a smile completes, a hand waves, eyes look up. Families can add a Voice Farewell — their loved one's recreated voice reading a goodbye letter — as the film's closing words.

Gentle is the operating word. This is not a deepfake spectacle; the animation is restrained by design, the film is labeled as containing AI-generated content, and everything runs under our Consent & Ethics policy — the person's wishes first, the whole family's agreement, one bounded farewell, materials deleted after delivery.

How does the process work?

  1. Share materials — 20+ photos and any phone clips, through our inquiry form. We assess honestly before any payment.
  2. Consent confirmation — production starts only after the family's consent is confirmed.
  3. Preview approval — for voice projects, you approve a 15-second preview first; if it doesn't sound like them, full refund.
  4. Delivery — a service-ready film, typically within 72 hours of complete materials, with one round of revisions included.

Will it be ready in time for the service?

Usually, yes — if you reach out as soon as the date is set. Our Memorial Film is typically delivered within 72 hours of receiving complete materials; a simpler Living Portrait within 48. The practical bottleneck is rarely our editing — it's gathering the photos and recordings from family members, so start collecting those the same day you inquire.

If we ever confirm a service date and miss it through our own fault, you receive a full refund. That policy is in our Terms of Service, not just on this page.
